We bought a house last fall, and decided just a few short months later that our house just wasn't a home without a dog living in it too. We went to Danbury Animal Welfare Society (DAWS) in February and fell in love with Cooper, a 2 year-old shepherd mix with a lot of energy and a long speckled tongue. Before DAWS, Cooper was a stray from Kentucky (I call him my Kentucky gentleman), and had been in and out of the shelter. Once we put the application in, we were visiting him daily until we got the call that our application was approved and we could bring him home! Now that he's comfortable at home, Cooper is particular about where he sits on the couch; we even call him Sheldon (like Big Bang Theory) because if you take his spot, he gets upset. He will let you sit in it, but once you move it's gone! Cooper's favorite activities include going on runs with his mom (and has even run a 5k race!), chewing on Nylabones, snuggling on the couch and giving everyone he meets lots of kisses.
