This is Myst, a 7 month old Great Dane. Her rescue story, unfortunately, is not an uncommon one. She was a puppy bred for the sole purpose of making money. Myst was found to be deaf, so the breeder didn’t want her and the pet stores knew they couldn’t sell a pure white, deaf dog so she was placed on another truck to be brought to a vet to be euthanized. A wonderful person was able to rescue her from this fate and got her to a rescue group. What we thought was a cold turned out to be Canine Herpes Virus, commonly known as Fading Puppy Syndrome. Due to her young age, being underweight and malnourished, within 24 hours it turned into full pneumonia and they weren’t sure if she was strong enough to survive it. Those first two months with her passed in a blur of medication, steam treatments, syringe feedings and daily vet visits. It took a lot of time, patience and TLC for her to become healthy.Myst became a part of our family 5 months ago and she has become a typical puppy that we all love
