My family was looking for the right family dog for a while, no specific breed in mind, just knew we wanted to adopt and save a dog that would be good with young kids. I checked with the local shelters periodically and looked over petfinder.com (an adoption website). I came across Gunner's picture and information on petfinder.com back in March '14. The day I saw Gunner's picture, I knew he would be the perfect fit for my family. I got in touch with the shelter and Gunner's foster mom right away. She told me there was an adoption event at a local Petco where we can meet Gunner. There were many dogs and cats there just waiting for someone to adopt them. Gunner was 8 weeks old when we went to see him, he was with his 5 brothers and sisters, they were all jumping over him and trying to play. Gunner was the calm one in the back, just observing everyone and everything going on around him. He looked up at me, his eyes met mine and knew he had found his forever home.
