Wesley was 3 months old when we adopted him from the shelter. His brother and him were strays that were picked up. Wesley is a Pitbull terrier and is now 4 years old and is a registered AAT or Animal Assisted therapy. We volunteer at senior facilities, universities and a high school for at-risk youth suffering mental disabilities and psychological conditions. We do this to not only help those who need it most but also to spread the word that Pitbulls as a breed have the same capabilities as all other breeds and can be therapy dogs too! In addition, the stigma placed on Wesley for being a Pitbull more than often comes in handy when working with certain groups of people that may be judged based on their appearance, disability or sexual preference.
