We got our lab from a local animal shelter in NY, but her journey started in Puerto Rico. She was rescued from an area known as dead dog beach. She was about 2 yrs old, pregnant, transported to NY gave birth to her pups here. While all her babies had been adopted out, she had not. It was love at first site- I saw something special in her. Sure enough, a year later I fostered a kitten with a spinal injury- Brownie became her mom! Got the kitty up and moving, cleaned her, etc. Brownie may have had a rough life, but she is the sweetest girl you could imagine!
